Pokemon Go just added Pokemon Home functionality, but as expected, it's bad. Let's start with the basics first. So, as of today, Go -to- Home transfer is in. Right now it's only available for level. So, Pokemon Home is out, and there's a lot to unpack. Home, in case you missed it, is the new generational (read: Sword and Shield) transfer app for Switch and mobile devices that replaces the 3DS. I ask because I have more than 30 shinies that can't transfer to Galar (including several Unown letters that will never be allowed), and I'm curious if it will be safe to leave them all in Home without a subscription, or if I'd need to keep an active subscription until the expansions come out.

  1. Pokemon Home Premium subscribers can store up to 6,000 Pokemon in 200 boxes, while free users can only store 30 Pokemon in a single box. As the Pokemon Company confirmed, if your Premium.
  2. Once a Pokemon is in Pokemon HOME, it should be able to be transferred to Pokemon Sword and Shield as long as it belongs to the Pokemon Sword and Shield Pokedex or is a Transferrable Pokemon.
