This parameter selects the video instance (video stream) to be retrieved through RTSP. 3.2.2 Enable replay mode This parameter enables the de vice's replay mode, which means that a recorded video stream is being streamed through RTSP. 3.2.3 Recorded video stream selection This parameter selects the re corded video stream that is to be replayed. In the VLC software, just open the 'Media Open Network Stream' menu or type CTRL + N and paste the RTSP command from the IP camera. In our example, the IP of the camera is 192.168.2.107 and the RTSP port is 554, this information must be entered in the command that will be sent to the camera. The RTSP stream can be useful in working in custom applications and situations or to isolate a video feed to add to a NVR for basic recording functionality. This requires you to know the rtsp-protocol URL of the stream. Stations do not usually list their URLs, but embed them in .ram or .smil files. These can easily be extracted (there are instructions on the How To page) - but for convenience, the live streams of some popular major stations are listed below. Plus some random less-major stations!
